My sms break up - break up story by sms

Hi Steve, I just had a break up with my boyfriend he broke up with me by sms. We had been together for 7 months and out of the blue he sent me a text saying that he did not want to see me any more. I was devastated, firstly because I love him and secondly because of the way he did it. I thought we had a great relationship, I never had any idea anything was wrong. We had even booked a holiday.

SMS break up is a problem that comes up in my coaching sessions because they can have a destructive effect on the recipient. It is probably one of the worst ways you can be finished with. It’s cold and insensitive. It leaves the person feeling worthless. When you are breaking up there are so many questions that pop into your head. Some you ask and some you don’t, but you just want to have the choice to ask why.

Breaking up is just part of life and is the way we filter through people to find who is right for us. The reality is it’s a good thing in the long run because if one party is unhappy then the chances of the relationship getting worse is very high. So if you have been finished with then really is they have done you a favour, even if does not feel like it at the time. If you going to break up with someone show them some respect and meet them face to face, tell them why and be gentle.

When I was posed this problem I have a thought that I would like to share with you, break ups happen for so many different reasons. So my question for you is…

Have you ever broken up with someone for an unusual reason.

  • Did he have a weird voice?
  • Did she laugh like a hyena and going out was embarrassing?
  • Was he too short?
  • Did they behave in a weird way?
  • Maybe their walk just something you could not cope with.
  • Maybe they were too nice and it irritated you.
  • Or maybe there was something physical that you just could not get past.
